Analyse the historical reliability of scheduled departures on a route over the last 28 days to find the most punctual trains.
Enter the name of the station (e.g. "Paddington") or its 3-letter CRS code (e.g. "PAD") in the **Origin Station / CRS** field in the left column. As you type, matching suggestions will appear. Select a station and click the **Search** button.
If you only want to see trains running to a specific station, enter it in the **Filter Destination (Optional)** field. Click **Search** to apply the filter. You can swap the origin and destination by clicking the ⇅ SWAP DIRECTION button.
Once you have performed a query, click the **Save Station** (or **Save Route** if you have a destination filter active) button in the left column. The route will be saved in your **Saved Stations** tab so you can quickly access it later.
All of your saved routes, stations, and query history are stored locally on your device in your browser's local storage (localStorage). No personal data or search histories are sent to or stored on our servers.
Because your favourites and history are stored locally in the browser, clearing your browser history, cache, or site data will delete this information. If you use a private/incognito window, your data will also be lost once you close the window.
In the departures table, click on any service row. A popup window will open displaying the full schedule, including the operator, coach length, expected arrival/departure times at all intermediate calling points, and any delay or cancellation reasons.
Reliability ratings are fetched dynamically from the National Rail **Historical Service Performance (HSP)** database, analysing actual train times over the **last 28 days**. They are broken down into:
• On Time: The percentage of runs arriving within 5 minutes of their scheduled time.
• Late (5m+): The percentage of runs delayed by 5 minutes or more.
• Cancelled: The percentage of scheduled runs that were cancelled before completion.
It is based on the arrival punctuality at the selected destination station:
• Without a Destination Filter: The calculation is based on the train arriving at its final destination (e.g., if you view departures from London King's Cross for a train terminating at Edinburgh Waverley, it measures the arrival reliability at Edinburgh).
• With a Destination Filter: The calculation is based on the train arriving at your filtered destination (e.g., if you filter London King's Cross departures to York, it measures the arrival reliability at York, ignoring any delays that happen after the train leaves York).
Services are graded based on their 28-day on-time performance rate:
• GRADE A: High reliability (90% or more runs arrived on time).
• GRADE B: Moderate reliability (75% to 89% of runs arrived on time).
• GRADE C: Low reliability (fewer than 75% of runs arrived on time).
To ensure accuracy, services are analysed like-for-like. If you query a train on a weekday, we compare it only against weekday runs of that same service over the last 28 days (typically around 20 runs). If queried on a Saturday or Sunday, we compare it only against other Saturdays or Sundays respectively.
